Dr. Phillips in Orlando
The Dr Phillips area in Orlando, generally extending from Conroy Road on the north to the south end of the Sand Lake Chain, encompasses highly-rated schools, businesses, medical and recreational facilities, and residential areas, including all of what is now Bay Hill, South Bay, Orange Tree, Torrey Pines, Phillips Landing, Turtle Creek, Buenavista Woods, Emerald Woods, Diamond Cove, and other neighborhoods.
Internationally renowned Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, home of the famous PGA tournament, is a centerpiece for the Dr. Phillips area. Orange Tree Golf Club is a second 18-hole golf course located in the area.
Orlando's renowned Restaurant Row, in the center of the Dr. Phillips area, offers dozens of eateries catering to most appetites and pocketbooks.
Two large YMCA facilities, including the Aquatic Center, home of international competitions, are found in or near the area, as well as several other private gyms.
The Butler Chain consisting of 11 interconnected lakes, and Big Sand Lake are part of the Dr. Phillips area and are accessible to boating, paddling, fishing, water skiing and other water sports from both public and private boat ramps and marinas.
Dr. Phillips Community Park, one of Orange County's newest and largest, is located in the southern end of the area on the shores of Big Sand Lake, while Shadow Bay Park, with excellent trails, tennis courts, baseball and basketball facilities can be found on the north end of the Dr. Phillips area.
